What gets a fast reply

A wrong number. Freight classification has real money attached, so a result that does not match what your carrier says is the thing worth interrupting us for. Include what you entered and what you expected.

Missing document fields are the second priority. If your forwarder or a destination customs authority needs a box that is not on our invoice, packing list, certificate or letter of instruction, that is a gap worth closing.

What we cannot do

Quote your freight. We are not a broker and have no rate data. The calculators produce the inputs a rate is built from, not the rate.
Classify a specific commodity. That comes from the governing NMFC item, which is licensed data. We can explain how density works; we cannot tell you your item number.
Give legal, customs or tax advice. Your broker and the destination authority decide those.

Questions people actually ask

I think a freight class result is wrong. What should I send?

The dimensions and weight you entered, the class you got, and the class you expected or were charged. That is normally enough to reproduce it. Note that the 18-step density guideline and the NMFC sub-provision scale disagree in several bands, and the calculator shows both — a mismatch with your carrier is sometimes that disagreement rather than an error.

Do you store my message?

The submission goes to our form provider and to our inbox, and contains only what you type into the form. Nothing you entered into a calculator or document generator is attached — that data never leaves your browser and we have no way to see it.

How quickly do you reply?

This is a small operation, so within a few days rather than a few minutes. Reports of wrong calculations jump the queue.
